Your Taste In Art Tells Whether You Are A Sadist Or A Moralist

Would you kill a goldfish in the name of art? Well, apparently some of us will. “Helena & El Pescador” was an art piece by a Chilean artist Marco Evaristti. The art piece was displayed in a museum in Denmark in the year 2000. The art was simply vessels with goldfish in it. But these were not ordinary vessels. These were electric blenders. Evaristti invited spectators to blend the goldfish if they so desired. One of the spectators got up and turned on the blenders. The goldfish were blended. [For those interested - Police arrived and the museum was charged with animal cruelty]

Evaristti talked about his art and said that the purpose his art was to sort people into three categories - 1. Sadist - people who were willing to blend the goldfish 2. Moralist - people who were disgusted or upset by the display 3. Voyeur - people who just watched others reactions and enjoyed their reactions (whether they be a sadist or a moralist)

What would you do? Are you a sadist or a moralist? Or are you just a peeping Tom (a voyeur)? You can have your own opinion on art. You can be a sadist or a moralist or a voyeur. Your action is just a reflection of your personality and so either of the three is alright. I am personally a Voyeur and I am not ashamed of it.
